Whole blackcurrants are left to steep in a smooth alcohol spirit to allow meceration, which creates a deep rich port like blackcurrant liqueur. With a real burst of bramble flavours balanced by tart notes this liqueur oozes fantasic flavours of blackcurrant.
Mix with champagne for a classic kir Royale, for a taste of autumn mix with a freshly pressed apple juice and add a splash of amaretto to add a sweet almond nutty flavour. For a winter warmer add to mulled wine to add depth and richness. This liqueur is equally good served on its own with a selection of your favourite cheeses.
